Giving in Memory

gift in memory

Thank you for visiting our giving in memory page and for considering making a special gift to us.

Sadly, if you are visiting this page it is likely to be because you have lost a special someone and we would like to express our sincere sympathy at this difficult time.  Losing someone that you love is a painful experience, filled with many emotions and we understand that it is an extremely personal experience.

At Heartburn Cancer UK we hope that we can offer you several ways that you can honour and remember your loved one. By recording lasting memories, we hope this will provide a small comfort and a place to reflect.  We can help you to achieve this by creating a Tribute page, starting a Funeral collection, making a dedication or a one-off donation.

If you would like any advice or support on giving in memory or would just like to talk to someone about making your gift, please contact Jess on 01256 338668 or by email to info@heartburncanceruk.org.

Tribute Funds

Creating a tribute fund in memory of someone special is one way to make a lasting memorial that can both celebrate a life and help to keep your loved ones memory alive.  It gives you, the fund holder, and those who you share the page with the opportunity to upload photos, music and stories.

Many people find donating to a relevant cause brings comfort to family and friends, along with the knowledge that contributions will be used to help others in a similar position.

Your tribute fund will be personal to you and the memory of your loved one, meaning that you will choose how and when it is added to.  All donations will serve as a lasting tribute as well as continuing to help us change the future for those suffering with persistent heartburn symptoms or diagnosed with Barrett’s oesophagus and oesophageal cancer.

How do Tribute Funds Work?

Once your Tribute Fund has been created, it can be added to at any time. Many people choose to invite donations in memory of their loved one at a funeral service or celebration of life, but because a Tribute Fund is a lasting memorial, it can also be used to mark special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and other family events.

There is no limit to how often you can donate or fundraise through your Tribute Fund, making it a meaningful way to remember and celebrate your loved one for years to come. You can also choose this platform to  make regular donations to your charity of choice.

More information on what is involved is here in this handy guide.

Funeral Notice and Collections

We understand that planning a funeral is a difficult time and we hope that the funeral notice service offered by our partner, Much Loved, may alleviate some of that stress. Funeral notices are typically included when a page is set up by your appointed funeral director, but you can also create your own if you wish, please visit the HCUK Much Loved page.

If you would like a HCUK donation pot or some donation collection envelopes for your service, then we are happy to supply these too. Just get in touch with Jess on info@heartburncanceruk.org with any requests you may have.

Create a Lasting Dedication

Pay tribute to your loved one’s memory by leaving a dedication.

We have created a dedication page, which we hope will become a place where those who have lost loved ones can take a moment to reflect and share memories.  There is a simple process which enables you to share a message or a story or to celebrate your loved one’s life, together with a photo if you wish.  This will be a lasting page where your dedication will remain.

If you would like to you can make a donation when making your dedication.  We are committed to changing the future so that fewer families lose loved ones to oesophageal cancer and all donations will be used to directly support our work.

Make a Donation in Memory

Making a donation and supporting a cause that was close to their heart is one way you can honour the memory of your loved one.

If you would like to make a donation in memory, either as a one-off gift or on a regular basis, please visit our Donate page.

Fundraise in Memory

Honouring the memory of someone special by raising funds for a cause they cared about can be a meaningful and healing way to celebrate their life. Whether you choose to come together with family and friends for a sponsored walk in one of their favourite places, host a gathering, or take part in an activity that reflects their passions, your efforts will help continue their legacy and make a real difference for those affected by persistent heartburn, Barrett’s oesophagus, and oesophageal cancer.

You may also wish to take on a personal challenge in their name – whether it’s running a marathon, hosting a quiz night, or simply doing something you love, every step you take helps us raise awareness, fund vital support services, and bring hope to others.

If you’re thinking about fundraising in memory of a loved one, we’re here to support you. Together, we can turn remembrance into lasting impact.
