A brand new Ultra Challenge for 2027 – heading into Scotland for the very first time! Join the inaugural edition of The Borders Ultra Challenge and head from England to Scotland on foot along stunning Northumbrian coastline and Scottish trails.

Starting from the charming historic town of Berwick-Upon-Tweed, you’ll head north over the Scottish Border towards North Berwick on a 84km route combining two stunning marathons. Expect dramatic views and scenery unlike any other Ultra Challenge.

Join as an individual or as a team and get ready to experience full support every step of the way. Regular Rest Stops packed with food & drink, hot meals, fully marked routes, massage & medical care, marshals on course and walking the route with you, and of course an unbeatable community. There’s a range of camping options & transfers available for all Challengers so you can plan your whole weekend smoothly.

Before you register, there are two booking options to consider:

Option 1 – Self funding – Pay for your own place

Pay in Full – NO fundraising requirement but you can select to support our cause via the registration form

• Double Marathon Distance: £199 fee with no fundraising commitment
• Marathon Distance: £139 fee with no fundraising commitment
• 10 Mile: £49 fee with no fundraising commitment

Option 2 – Charity Fundraising – Registration fee and sponsorship

The charity pay for your place. You pay a small registration fee when you sign-up and pledge to raise the specified target amount via sponsorship.

• Double Marathon Distance: £50 registration fee; raise at least £575 in fundraising/sponsorship
• Marathon Distance: £40 registration fee; raise at least £375 in fundraising/sponsorship
• 10 Mile: £15 registration fee; raise at least £150 in fundraising/sponsorship
